LA - första kvällen och första dagen

Det är sant! Första bilderna från sommarens 18-dagars resa till västkusten i USA kommer här. Har så mycket att visa er, men vi början från början. I Los Angeles.

ENGLISH: It's true! Here are the first picture from this summer's 18-day long trip to the West coast in America. I've got so much to show you but we'll start at the start. In Los Angeles.

Vi kom till L.A. en söndageftermiddag, helt slut efter ett riktigt bajsflyg från Amsterdam. Vi fick inte sitta bredvid varandra utan på varsin rad; jag framför Daniel. Båda intryckta i mitten. Men vi överlevde och var så redo för semester. Shuttlen vi bokat var lätt att hitta, incheckningen på The Orlando (obs ingen spons) gick smidigt och vi stack ut för att hitta mat. Vi bodde i området Beverly Grove som kändes ungdomligt, hippt och välkomnande. Efter en burgare, ett glas svalkande och en promenad runt kvarteret stendäckade vi i sängen. Jetlaggen ikapp och allt.

ENGLISH: We arrived in L.A. on a Sunday afternoon, exhausted from a really shitty flight from Amsterdam. We weren't allowed to sit next to each other; I was in the row in front of Daniel. Both of us squeezed in the middle on our rows. But we survived and were so ready for our holiday. The shuttle we'd booked was easy to find, check-in went smoothly at The Orlando and then we went out on a food hunt. We lived in the area Beverly Grove, it felt very young, hip and welcoming. After a burger, a glass of someting cold and a little walk round the block, we fell asleep so hard. Jetlag had caught up.

Nästa morgon vaknade vi förstås i helt orimlig tid. 05.00 stod jag klarvaken i duschen, redo för dagen. När vi väntat in frukosttid på hotellet och ätit ungefär hälften av de brutala portionerna ville vi ut på färd. Hollywood Boulevard stod först på schemat men när vi frågade receptionspersonalen om bästa promenadväg tappade de hakorna i golvet. "GÅ?! Det är tar ju nästanliksomtyp EN TIMME att gå!!!!!". Yep, L.A. är en bilstad. Men vi gick.

ENGLISH: The next morning we obviously woke up at a completely unreasonable time. At 5AM I was wide awake in the shower, ready for the day. When we'd waited in breakfast time at the hotel and eaten about half of the brutal portions, we wanted to discover. Hollywood Boulevard was first out but when we asked the receptionist about the best way to walk, their jaws dropped. "WALK?! That takes almostlikeprobably AN HOUR to walk!!!!". Yep, L.A. is a car city. But we walked.

Precis när vi svängde in på gatan som går bort till boulevarden såg vi denna brud ute på promenad med sin GRIS. Gick typ under av turistgarv. Vem hade sett det från en tråkig buss?

ENGLISH: Just as we turned onto the road that goes to the boulevard, we saw this girl. Walking her PIG. Almost collapsed in fits of tourist laughing. Who had seen this from a boring bus?

Vi kom fram till starten av det stora turiststråket och pausade med en cola. Nu började det bli ordentligt varmt.

ENGLISH: We got to the start of the touristy area and paused for a coke. It started to get so, so hot here.

Efter vi gått gatan upp och ner, läst namnen på ett par stjärnor i marken, väjt för föresäljare, premiärshoppat, svettats och sett Hollywood-skylten från håll ville vi ha mat. Det blev panggod mexikansk mat som vi inte var i närheten av att orka äta upp. FÖR STORA PORTIONER, AMERIKA.

ENGLISH: After we'd walked the boulevard up and down, read a few names on the stars in the ground, dodged sales people, done our first shopping, sweated and seen the Hollywood sign from a distance, we wanted food. We ate amazing Mexican but were no where close to finishing them. TOO BIG PORTION, AMERICA.

Vid fyra hade vi bestämt oss för att gå på IMAX på the Chinese Theatre. Det är USA:s största med 900 platser. Vi och cirka fem andra satte oss i gungstolar och såg på The Legend of Tarzan i brutal 3D. Kan rekommendera hela upplevelsen! Sen tog vi en buss till hotellet (pga hade ju turistat färdigt för dagen) och somnade tidigt igen.

ENGLISH: We'd decided to go to a movie at the IMAX at four. The one at the Chinese Theatre is America's biggest with its 900 seats. Us and five others sat in the comfortable rocking chairs and watched The Legend of Tarzan in brutal 3D. I can recommend the whole experience! Then we took a bus back to the hotel (as we'd touristed enough for the day) and fell asleep super early again.
